Happy Birthday, point electronic!

point electronic is celebrating its 30th anniverary.

Admittedly, we haven't made much of a fuss about it, but we're still damn proud of it: on November 16, we turned 30!

And if we take a look at how point electronic has developed in these 30 years, it is quite presentable!

point electronic GmbH was founded in 1992 by three former employees of the physics faculty at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. And is still a family business, now in the second generation. A personal and familiar company culture is as much a part of us as the local connection to our location, a strong international positioning and our constant drive to innovate.

Developed

point electronic stands not only for reliability and stability in know-how, and a very high engineering standard of performance and quality. But also for always finding new solutions for old and new challenges of our customers in electron microscopy. "And sometimes even future ones," adds Wolfgang Joachimi, who founded the company back then, emphasizing that this has always been point electronic's recipe for success until today.

Originally started as a service organization for electron microscopes and microprobes, point electronic GmbH very soon reacted to the growing needs of the industry for digitization of analog instruments – starting with imaging systems up to the electronics of the whole instrument. To this day, we enjoy an excellent reputation and now supply electronic solutions and software for a wide range of electron microscopy applications. This includes high-end development projects of single systems and small series for special, often completely new applications in industry and science on the one hand. And series products for the largest possible number of users with standard applications on the other hand, where our constant aim is to simplify and improve established processes and technologies as much as possible for all user levels and to combine them with new functions.

Grown

Started in 1992 with three employees – almost cosy on about 80 square meters - 1997 a fourth employee joined. Today, point electronic has 22 employees. And has also grown spatially: Our main location in Halle (Saale) measures now some hundred square meters more, including a lab for upgrading scanning and transelectron microscopes, as well as a demo lab where customers can test and handle their microscope systems ordered from us. In addition, we have two branch offices - one in Potsdam/Germany, and one in Cluj/Romania.

Our customers from science and industry are located in almost all parts of the world. ‚We owe this not least to a strong international sales network, but also to many international, national and regional research and development partnerships with whom we work closely,‘ says Christoph Sichting, CEO of point electronic GmbH.

‚And above all, however, to our colleagues who made all this possible through their daily contribution, their ideas and their passion - a big thank you!‘

moved 2x– and still at home

Due to continuous growth, point electronic has moved two times in its company history - and has always remained loyal to the city of Halle(Saale). Today, the company is located at the Weinberg Campus, the largest technology park in Central Germany and one of a total of 12 Centers of Excellence in the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt. With the technology companies at the location, point electronic has found an ideal neighborhood for innovativeness, future viability and further growth.
