Dr. Trushal Sardhara awarded the Heinz Bethge Prize for Materials Science 2024
point electronic GmbH supports young scientific talent in electron microscopy with the prize money
To support young scientists, point electronic GmbH has sponsored the Heinz Bethge Prize for Materials Science 2024 with the award money. This year's award went to Dr. Trushal Sardhara from the TU Hamburg, now at the University Hospital of the RWTH Aachen University of Applied Sciences, for his groundbreaking doctoral thesis “3D Reconstruction of FIB Tomography Data Using Machine Learning”.
According to the jury, the work represents a significant advancement in the three-dimensional reconstruction of nanomaterials, setting new standards in precision and efficiency within materials science.
We warmly congratulate Dr. Trushal Sardhara on this award.
“We want to encourage young scientists to shape the electron microscopy of tomorrow,” says Christoph Sichting, Managing Director of point electronic GmbH. “Young talents are a driving force behind innovations in materials research. Their work not only contributes to pushing the boundaries of knowledge, but also to open up new technologies and applications for electron microscopy.” With the sponsorship, point electronic aims to provide both recognition and encouragement.
point electronic has been committed to promoting young talent in this field for many years. The company is not only a long-standing member of the board trustees of the Heinz Bethge Foundation, but also supports its school laboratory in order to spark enthusiasm for materials science and electron microscopy at an early age.
In addition, point electronic offers students supervision and support for their Master's and Bachelor's theses in the fields of electronics, mechanics and comparable areas of scanning electron microscopy.
